Step 5 Be Motivated
Successful people have the “fuel” to succeed. This fuel varies with every individual. This is what drives us towards success. For some its positive. They always had good things in their lives so they want to continue in that line. Hopefully this will be your children if like most your past consists mostly of the negative stuff. Some have had everything against them except, crucially, God and themselves. God is always on our side and wants us to prosper but YOU are sorely responsible for how you respond to events in your lives.
All challenges should motivate you. When see other successful people don’t curse or hate them… thank God for showing you people to look up to, because he can do it for you. Always have the drive and hunger to accomplish your dreams and you will.
In order to succeed you need something that attracts you and/or something that pushes you. You see the “good life” and want the same to be part of your own life experience.
Know what you want. That something must be enough to light a fire inside you. This desire should be enough to drive you into not sparing any pains to achieving your success. If it’s something you love doing these “pains” won’t be too hard. See the next chapter on doing what you love. You will realize that great men of success saw their work as blessings rather than “hard labor.”
“Every opportunity is there for you, if you WANT it.”
“Nothing happens unless we dream first.”
“God gives opportunities, success depends upon the use made of them.”
“To live like a king you should work like a slave.”
“I want to the best ……… that the world has ever known.”
“There is never a money problem, only an idea problem.”
“ Money comes to me easily and frequently.”
“I have unlimited abundance.”
“I give and receive freely.”
“I always have an abundance of money to meet my needs and wants.”
Begin to expect great things, and as you do you will create your life in advance.
Expectations transform behavior into what’s required to achieve a desired goal. Look at a petulant to two-year old baby. It always expects to get its own way. It is willing to through itself to the ground even at the expense of bruises or a spanking- it doesn’t even know of these possible consequences. It knows what it wants and it goes after it. Period! Now I believe everyone whose reading this book is above two years of age (unless you are a really smart two year old!!). You are more mature in your approach to getting what you want. But whatever you want is your milk or fluffy toy. Whether its money, great relationships go after it with your all. If it’s really important you will do what it takes.
The actions of men are the best interpreters of their thoughts.
Simple and straight forward. What someone thinks about he does. The bible also says in Psalms 1 that the righteous are those meditate on God’s law continually. The successful people I have read about all have a passion for reading and watching other successful people. One of Tiger Woods secrets is to hang around other people of success because they understand what it takes to be excellent and they understand the pressures that come with it. So if you constantly think about how you can be a great husband, wife, son, daughter, or parent the actions will start to show.
Nurture great thoughts, for you will never go higher than your thoughts.
A man embarked on a long journey by foot to another part of town. As he passed the outskirts of the town he decided to go into one of the houses and ask for a cup of tea. He prayed in his heart, “Lord may you cause these people to be friendly to me and give me a cup of tea.” So he summed up the courage to go into the house and just before he had barely entered the house, a cup of tea was brought to him. He was offered a cup of tea before he asked for it. He thanked God in his heart for answering his prayer. Just before he got up to leave and carry on he’s journey, a lady also on a journey came into the same house. Just before she asked for anything, she got a pot full of tea and some muffins. The man became so disgruntled and grumbled to God in his heart saying, “ I only got a cup of tea and she gets a whole pot and some muffins.” But that was his prayer!! He had asked for only a cup and God had been faithful.
What are your biggest dreams that you are praying and believing for? Would they make you happy even if you saw others, who in the natural, seemed to be doing better than you?
I’m not saying compete with others I’m simply saying your dreams should be big enough to satisfy you.
Think of great things only. Aim to be the greatest human being. Achieve the highest success possible in your industry, or in your education. Whatever YOU want. Ask yourself what is it that you truly want, see it vividly and then pray for it. I promise you God hears and answers prayers. Prayers that come from the bottom of your heart especially, get the attention of God.
“If one is to justify the aura of greatness, he will have to compile a record that makes him stand out, one that will also make him vulnerable to attack.”
“The first and most important step towards success is the expectation that we can succeed.”
“He who expects nothing will receive it (nothing).”
The hero is the one with ideas.
The people who change football games or any other sport are those who instinctively get bold ideas and implement them on the pitch. The creative ones that find spaces were no one else does, who move like no other and dribble past people as if they weren’t there in the first place.
The successful people in business or any other profession are those who often do, “common things uncommonly well.” They are those who redefine how things “should” be done. They often do the right things in their own way. They are bold. They are industry shakers. They have a way of being that separates them from the rest.
See, the ability to be creative has generated some people billions of dollars. It can also happen for you. Enlarge your thinking, your vision, and your possibilities. There are many problems to solve in the world, and to be a solution finder you need treat your mind delicately. Watch what comes into it all the time. Make sure what comes in is consistent with your vision.
Come up with great ideas and you will be irreplaceable in any undertaking.
The battle for control and leadership of the world has always been waged most effectively at the idea level.
Before any war, there needs to be a tactic and strategies. Same thing before any sport’s match. Someone has to come up with ideas that will uproot the opposition. It first starts in the mind then it is implemented by the body of soldiers or players. The best are usually the most innovative and deal with the opposition. But mostly, the truly successful are those who know their best weapons, their strengths and apply them. To be truly successful you need to focus more on YOUR strengths than on the problems or opposition ahead of you. Your strengths will lead you to “scoring” your goals. Whatever goal you have.
It all starts with ideas. If you are there in the mind, then you will go there in the body.
More gold has been mined from the thoughts of men, than has been taken from the earth.
The mind is the greatest asset for a human being. Ages ago, the richest people had gold mines. Nowadays some of the richest don’t even know much about mining. The human mind is able to come up with new ways of sustaining itself. Pray to God for such wisdom and He will give you. Some people are rich because of ideas that just popped up in their heads. They just came. God just gave them. Now they are financially free. So simple yet that is the reality of some people. One characteristic about such people is that even before their million-dollar ideas they always imagined a better life. Living in a better neighborhood, a better car—being able to afford things without struggling. They prayed for that a better day. From this we can reasonably ascertain that their prayers direct and specific. Successful people pray for what they want exactly.
“Gold mines tap out. Stock markets crash. Real estate investments can go soar. But a human mind with the ability to think well is like a diamond mine that never runs out. It’s priceless.”
Being successful is simply a matter of making good choices by using our incredibly sophisticated brains.
Highly effective organ is our brain that it is able process different kinds of information at the same time. It’s able to remember all your childhood experiences and link them all to your current life. Now our brain is neutral in the sense that it works with the information it is given to work with. Many young people focus on many musicians, and they end up talking like them, walking dressing etc. The brain is a persons’ “director of the orchestra.”
This why it’s so brilliant!! You get to choose. If you know what you want and constantly think on it, you find information on it—if you focus on it then all your choices will be directly linked to what you want. I am talking about anything: being Christ like, having more money, being a better parent or child, ANYTHING. This is a fabulous organ that can bring you great success or great failure depending on what is fed in it.
People will never attain what they cannot see themselves doing.
“What you see is what you want. We are transformed by exposure. Send your words to where you want to go.”
If you think you can, then you can. If you think you can then you will see yourself doing it or living it. You will pray for it in faith. Your actions will correspond to the beat of that song; THEN very soon your thoughts will become reality. You had the thoughts now they have you.
You might well remember that nothing can bring you success but yourself.
You may never be the president of your country, but you are the ruler of your own self.
You choose what experiences to have all the time. What affects your circumstances is not some outside influence; it’s you and the choices you make. You decide. God has graciously given us free will to be exercised. We are not robots. God is like a coach who tells us how to live abundantly and happily and we are the player. We go on the pitch without necessarily being controlled by the coach like we do on Playstation. We then decide to follow the coaches instructions or not.
We score the goals or shots, make the dribbles and tackles or blocks. We go to training, we are taught by our coach but we ultimately decide how to respond. We are the architect of our own lives. Don’t blame others for your life. It’s not in the events of your life, it’s your responses. Get it through your head then you will start making the choices that correspond to what it is you really want.
I want to take the time recommend a great blog: Success Guardian. You will get all you need to manifest anything that you desire!
Step 4 to living a successful life
Every great sport star wants to play in the big finals that come towards the end of the season. But the truly successful do what it takes from the first game of the season. Winning doesn’t occur in the final only, it starts with having a winners mentality from the beginning. “Feel Now” the way you feel when your dreams come to pass. “DO NOW” the things you will do when dreams come to pass. If you imagine yourself as a generous billionaire, be generous NOW when you only have a borrowed $1 in your pocket. If you see yourself as kind in your prosperous future be kind now. You do not necessarily pursue your future, it comes to you. Make the most of today.
When you make it and live in million-dollar home and have a spouse to die for etc.--- your greatest memories are going to be those nights you prayed in tears for dreams to come true, those days you slept hungry but kept your faith. Those days’ people made fun of your shoes and lack of clothes but you kept praying, kept believing. Those times you forgave and loved those who seemed to be unlovable. Live in the now and enjoy your life now. If poverty breaks you down now then tomorrow you will never be rich. But if poverty doesn’t break you, if you are happy through it and are confident with it, your dreams will come to you.
It’s good to see yourself as a great husband when you get married. But the journey to being one starts now. Move away from throwing everything in the future. If can’t do anything now why do you think you will be able to do it in the future. You need to live your dream life now. Imagine living your dreams today and not tomorrow.
“You are only as publicly strong as you are privately.”
If you do just a little research, it is going to become evident that anyone that ever accomplished anything great, did not know how they were going to do it. They only knew they were going to do it.
If you will it, you will do it. Whether good or bad. From the peace loving Mother Theresa to the iron fisted dictator Adolph Hitler. You are capable of creating your reality. Everything you want is there for you. Just believe. So easy to say, not easy to but that’s what life brings to you. You don’t need to always know how its going to happen. But if want joy, and feel joy (even when you don’t have a reason) that becomes your experience.
Feel now the way you will feel when your blessings arrive.
If you can see it in your mind then you have already achieved it. Why delay feeling like a winner until when you have physically seen your desired results. You deserve to be happy all the time. Our brain is created in a way that allows it to create in our lives what we want. Feeling good aligns our brain to effortlessly create what we want. Feeling good is underrated. When you feel good doing something you do anything. You can do whatever it takes to achieve. When you have positive feelings towards someone you can do anything for them. You can do whatever it takes to make them happy.
Step 3 to a successful life
Men and women of success are comfortable in their own skin. They may admire others for their talents and lifestyles but they never wish they were them. They are satisfied with who they. They are never intimidated by others and they are never jealous. They recognize the freedom that comes with appreciating other peoples strengths even though they may be weak in those areas.
Basically they have high levels of self-esteem that allows them to follow their dreams and likes even though they may be unfashionable. They do not necessarily aim to be singular or different, but would rather be if the opposite would mean a suppression of who they are at the core. They do not need other people’s validation of how to live, they know who they are and were they want to go and they ruthlessly pursue the right path.
“Self-restraint is a greater manifestation of power than all outgoing action.”
The confidence that you show takes you through to being successful.
The more confident you feel about something the better you do at it. I used to play soccer as a boy and I remember something unwavering about all my experiences. When I felt good I played well. Even in the classroom, whenever I was myself, whenever I had the opportunity to express myself I got my best results. No wonder why Michael Jordan is quoted as saying: “you can never succeed doing what you like, you only succeed doing what you love.” I remember some my best days at school. Those were the days I did subjects that I loved, in the environment that I loved surrounded by the people I loved. And the results showed. I also remember my worst days at school. I did subjects that I hated. I hanged around the wrong people. I was swallowed up by life. I didn’t get to express myself. My individuality was constricted.
I wasn’t in control. Needless to say, the results also showed. All simply because my confidence was low.
True courage is being the person that you dream to be.
Be yourself and let your light shine. Dream to be someone who makes a difference in the lives of billions of people around the world. Start NOW. Not when you get your “opportunity” or “big break,” but now. The ability to give your money, time and your love doesn’t start when you have them all in abundance. NO. It starts when you are struggling to make ends meet. When you don’t know how you are going to feed yourself or your family. And its better when you only have yourself to think about. But if those you love the stakes get even higher. Being that loving person starts when you are lonely. When you are hated or when treated as if you are not there. But loving others when they despise you causes God see you. Something is activated in his heart. He purposes in his heart love you and show you unrivaled favor. Nothing is too hard for the Lord, but in human terms he works night and day to answer your prayers. He makes you invincible. THEN he gives great friends and relationships, he prospers you with money, with great health, peace of mind.
God is your manufacturer. He has given you talents and personal characteristics that uniquely define who you are. Trying to be someone you are not and going against your conscience is basically saying you are not happy with how you are created. You can never succeed if you don’t love the talents God has placed in you. You can never accept others for who they are if you don’t accept yourself for who you are. It all stars with being yourself. I will keep emphasizing being yourself because in order to achieve great success in anything you need not so much look around you but inside yourself. Happiness is neither east or west, but in your mind.
Don’t be bothered by your current state of poverty, you can change that. You have been subjected to physical, mental or sexual abuse… you can change that. Oprah suffered those things but she changed those experiences into her dream life. She focused on her dreams and succeeded. Many people are abused and a large percentage wallow in self-pity for their entire lives. Very few take the high road. Everyone of both these groups has one common attribute: they chose how to respond. Choose never to wallow in self-pity. Choose to always respond positively.
As I grow older, I pay less attention to what men say. I just watch what they do.
People say things all the time. They preach peace but go for war. They may offer praise only to stab you in the back. The most effective teaching tool at your disposal is people actions and their lifestyles. You can learn more from someone’s experiences than his words. It’s easy to preach 10 sermons than to live one.
Look for inspiration from successful people. People who have gone through the challenges you have and are living a great life. People who live what they preach. People whose words are backed by actions.
If someone always says “I love you” but he’s or her actions show otherwise then that person is a liar. Flee from them.
With the way most people’s lives are now you wouldn’t know that they grew up dirt, suffered different kinds of abuse and made many mistakes. Be inspired by those whose daily actions correspond to your self-concept—who you are. Emulate their successes.
If they persevered to become the best basketball player, persevere to become the best businessperson, writer, inventor or whatever you are or want to be. Persevere to become the best spouse or parent you can be. Even if you are single or do not have a child now, read books or watch DVDs of anything that provides you help to become the best at these things. When the time comes you will be well equipped.
You will become as small as your controlling desire, as great as your dominant aspiration.
Be very careful about what you constantly dream about.
Don’t dream about barely getting by or scraping through. “Oh if I could just pay our bills” or “if I could just get anyone to marry me.” NO! Set your standard and stick to it. Imagine yourself in a beautiful house with that amazing car that you drool about. That amazing wife or husband that you have always dreamed about. Life should excite you. It’s your decision.
The more you accept yourself just as you are, the more you accept others just as they are.
I am me, you are you. Just because you are not me it doesn’t mean there is something wrong with you. Your basic DNA was divinely created, created in the image of God. So was I. Such is the vastness of God that all these people with all their differences were created in the image of God.
If God made only roses, then the world would be very ugly. There are many other flowers. Even back to the roses, some are red some are white. There are different types of apples, but all are called apples. There are potatoes, there are sweet potatoes. Some like chicken some like fish. There are different ways to cook both. We are all uniquely made to serve a purpose.
First accept yourself, and then accept others.
There are many variations in life. You are part of those variations. Accept that. People who talk bad about others are secretly insecure about themselves. The truly confident realize they do not need to compete with anyone, they are fine with just the way they are. Have your own goals. If you set a target to make $1million per year, don’t feel outdone by someone who has made $10million. YOU achieved YOUR goal. Two people can also set and achieve the same financial target but the methods used are different. There are always many stones to kill the same bird.

Steps To Success Part 2----- Perseverance
All
great stories, biographies and testimonies have negative circumstances that
were aligned to propel the main character towards a successful life. The bible
says, “All things work together for good, for them that trust the Lord.” ALL
THINGS: poverty, sickness, all abuses and any other horrendous thing that you
can think of. All the experiences you have ever had, good or bad, are there to
mold your character towards living a life of success.
Success
still comes easily. The perseverance of successful people is never forced. If
you have a deep desire to have or experience something you mind will blank out
to all the negative circumstances that come your way.
Steve Jobs was once quoted as saying, “ more
than half of what separates successful entrepreneurs to those that are not is perseverance.”
The ability to keep on keeping on will get you great successes. The greatest
teams in any sport are those who are renowned for their come-back victories.
Those that never know when they are beaten. Their supporters may even doubt;
they stop cheering- they march out of the stadium but the truly great teams
never give up till the final whistle. This also goes for individuals who know
what they want and relentlessly pursue it. The truly successful are the select
few who respond to setbacks with even determination and tenacity. They turn on
the intensity button and grow their vision with every challenge that comes
forward.
Be
encouraged where ordinarily you would have been discouraged. Be hopeful when
everyone else is not giving you a chance. Smile when the normal thing is to
frown. Give praise when you have no reason to. Give gratitude when it seems
like everything is going wrong for you. Feel successful now. “Successful”
responses you see from great characters when the going is tough doesn’t happen
by accident, these are responses that have been cultivated even in smaller
situations.
“Don’t bury your fears, get inspired by them.”
“You can attempt to do anything if failure is not an option.”
“”Every time you stumble believe you are getting closer to your goal.”
“You block your dream if you allow fear to grow bigger than your
faith.”
“Don’t dread anything, just do it.”
“I may not see a way but I know God has a way.”
“Suddenly I will get my big break.”
“Trust God to give you divine connections that will lead to success.”
I’m not buried, I’m planted! I’m gonna come back up!
For
a seed to grow and sprout it has to be placed under the ground. If it
experiences to much sunshine without water it will never grow. If it
experiences too much water and not enough sunshine it will die as well. It
needs a balance of both.
For
your dreams to be realized they need to be watered. Seek information that
brings you closer to achieving your dreams. Visualize, affirm your goals, pray
about your goals, if you have to go to school then go, be around people that
inspire you to reach your goals and pray some more because communication with
God is the real secret to success. My life has taken a positive turn ever since
I started praying all the time. My fears have dissipated. God always answers my
questions. What I cannot do He does.
Many
people will lie and cheat to get what they want but talking to God will help
you get what you want without a guilty conscience.
Tough
times that require perseverance require you to choose whether you are planted
or buried. For your dreams to be realized you also need the suns heat. Tough
times if taken with a positive attitude can become the biggest tool for your
success. See In them the opportunity to grow. Many people got their
breakthrough ideas for financial prosperity when they were in a tight spot. A
wild cat can run away from you when you are chasing it but when you corner it,
it becomes a very dangerous animal. It sees where you are as the only path to
its freedom. It knows it has to go through. Sometimes that is exactly what we
need. In order to be our most creative we need to experience these challenges.
Many inventions happened- yes, to solve a problem for everyone but mostly when
the inventor was in financial need.
Success
still comes easily because such solutions to your problems are with you. They
are in your mind. Within every problem you have, YOU have the talents and
abilities to solve them, YOUR way.
Very
often the hardest part about getting success is that first “big-break.” It will
not be found doing things you loathe but it will be found within your “domain.”
Doing things that come easily to you. For me its writing. It comes easily for
me. Product ideas and invention ideas also come to me easily. They just pop into
my head especially when I’m reading about different products and services and
business magazines. Whatever it is for you, that will lead to your prosperity.
Change comes when we confront fear in our lives.
Not because we don’t feel fear, but we confront it.
Whenever
we want to improve our lives from where we are, it’s going to take shift in our
thoughts and behavior. This will stretch our comfort zone. Expect your mind and
body to complain for a little while. This is only normal because you have been
behaving in a certain way of living for a long time now. It’s also positive in
the sense that to go back to negative thought patterns after filling your mind
with positive affirmations is also going to be hard.
What cannot be cured must be endured.
Its
half full not half empty; Your perspective, Your world. People encounter the
same situations but we respond differently. It all comes down to how we take
circumstances. We CHOOSE how we treat others, how to respond. Life doesn’t just
happen to us, we CHOOSE.
So
with this in mind, always complaining about how things don’t go well with you
and never seeing what does creates more of the same experiences. Successful
people focus on the solution. They may not like current circumstances but their
desire for success quickly swallows up their pain therefore killing all forms
of doubt. Not having any money now is, well, a painful experience--- but your
visualizations of what you want should put you in a positive frame of mind.
However hard this may be at first but this will ensure you maintain that
success mindset that is sure to bring you results.
What you resist persists.
Any
singer can tell you about the falsetto. It’s a technique that allows a musician
to sing high notes without straining their voices. The trick is that, the
higher the pitch of the song the less pressure you put on your vocal cords as
you release your voice. This allows you to strike high notes sweetly without
straining your voice. If you hit high notes with high pressure your voice will
“crack” and destroys the harmony of the song because your voice breaks down. If
this continues one could even injure his or her vocal chords. Life is often a
song with many variations of both high and low notes. Sometimes you get high
pressure trials that try to “crack” us. The best thing to do is to accept a low
profile and let God take over the crisis. Don’t force solutions or fight wars
to stop wars. Be peaceful and graceful in your approach to life’s challenges.
The greater the challenges, the softer you should take them. Use the Falsetto
approach to any challenge that you do not have the ability to solve in your
natural self. Be calm in any situation that you do not have the ability to
solve on your own. Let God and let be.
Jesus
Christ says: Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right
cheek turn to him the other also… If someone forces you to go one mile, go with
him two miles. See Mathew 6vs 38-41(NIV).
“How can you know what is in your heart? Look at your actions.”
“Patience, persistence and perspiration are an unbeatable combination
of success- work smart though.”
“The ladder of success is never crowded at the top.”
A
story was told of when a young man asked Socrates the secret to success.
Socrates told him to meet him the following day at a local river the following
day. They met early in the morning at the river. Socrates surprised the young
man by telling him to walk into the river with him. Because this was Socrates
he did this. But what happened next did more than surprise him. Like a
cold-blooded murderer, Socrates grabbed the young man and placed under water as
if to drown him. Just at the point of death, the young man powered his way up
from the water. Still gasping for breath Socrates asked him, “What did you want
most whilst underneath the water?” The young man gently replied, “air.” “That
is the secret to success,” said Socrates. “When you desire success as you do
air, then nothing can stop you.”
The successful people in industry have succeeded
through their thinking. Their hands were helpers to their brains.
Successful
people have a knack of prospering when the odds are against them. When
everything seems to be going wrong, everyone seems to be against them that’s
when they achieve greatness. That’s when they conquer their trade and propel
themselves to new levels of success. They do that by simply maintaining a
positive attitude to every event in their lives. Not much separates average and
extraordinary; just the belief that, “I will prosper in this no matter what.”
Just the ability to make the voice in your head louder than the voices of other
people.
If
you tell yourself you are a winner, but everyone else’s voice tells you, “you
are a loser,” your voice should win out. You can live the presence of other
people and their voices but you can never leave your own presence. Other people
can interpret your life events for you and say you are doomed for failure,
poverty, never to get married—if YOU agree then it’s true, but if you don’t
agree then its false. You decide to keep going or to stop. Strong and tough
trees survive the drought and blossom when rain comes. The truly ones special
store away water in themselves which fights of the drought. If you see yourself
as a success even when you are dirt poor then you ARE. If you see yourself as
more than a conqueror in Christ even though you have had a shady past then you
are.
Steps To Success Part 1--- Clear Purpose
Successful
people fully recognize that they are totally responsible for their own lives.
They make full use of the free-will God has given them to direct their lives in
ways they choose. They do not blame others for their failures. They accept that
even though other challenges may come into their lives, they are responsible
for how they respond.
As
a person of success you need to know your abilities. What are you capable of?
What do you really want to do? What are your talents? Build from that. Grow in
your talents and your life will improve. Your talents are the head start to
your prosperity. You can only be truly confident and relaxed doing something
you are good at.
Confidence
is always the key to doing anything well. The problem is we concentrate more on
the outside part of being confident rather than the inside. If you are
naturally gifted at something, your confidence whilst doing it is often
effortless. You just do it. A confident person can do anything. She’s not
thinking about how others view her. He’s not trying to please others. Confidence
creates a boldness that is not satisfied with the ordinary, confidence creates
a desire for one to express themselves in an extraordinary and unique way.
Confidence can take good to being great. It can transform the seemingly
impractical to being a normal way of life.
Successful
people know what it is they want in each and every aspect of their lives. How
much money do you want to make, what kind of relationships do want to live
with. These people do not waste time inside situations or even other people
that are inconsistent with what they want. They have a self-concept that
outlines who they are and what they believe. Anything that hinders progress or
is not in line with them is swiftly dropped. Some can be described as being
cold towards anything that is not in line with what they have defined as
SUCCESS.
These
people do not let anyone define success for them. They realize life consists of
relationships but not only with others but more so with God and themselves.
Successful people tend to actively seek relationships with birds of the same
feather. People who understand and can relate to pressures they go through.
People who inspire them to do better.
Take
time to jot down your own self-concept. Who are you? What do you want to
achieve? Write all these things down. What dreams do you have that you dare not
express to everyone else? Perhaps dreams that would make you look silly for
having them but that would propel you to greatness once they have been
realized. This is a time to be truly honest with YOU. If you cannot let out
your dreams to YOU then you will never realize them. Being honest with yourself
about what you really want is the first step in being comfortable within your
own skin. This will lead to self-confidence, to desire and ultimately to bold
prayers then bold actions and ultimately great results. Include the kind of
relationships you want to have. What type of friends do you want to have?
I
once had “friends” who were against me. They were always “with” me but they
were never “for” me. I have come to realize that my life is much better without
them. I have my own principles on what kind of people I let in my social
circle. Now let me make it clear that no one is perfect but there are always
those that push you and those that pull you down. Resolve to be with those that
build you up. To move towards your purpose if you are not sure of it yet or to
move towards achieving it when you already know it then you need to chuck out
any form of poison. It sounds cold but “bad company will always ruin good
morals.” If your purpose brings joy and excitement to you then you will easily
peal yourself away from anything or anyone that can prevent you from your
purpose. Be courteous to all but intimate with those that support and accept
you for who you truly are.
“You end up becoming who you compare yourself to.”
“Only you give yourself a title. You choose what belief system to
have.”
“We are transformed by exposure. What you see is what you want.”
Don’t talk about what you are but what you want to be. Cast your words
were you want to go.”
“God talks about future events as if they have already happened. Do the
same with your dreams!”
“What we focus on we magnify.”
A belief is not just an idea that you possess, it
is an idea that possesses you.
When
you truly believe something will happen you do not worry about it, you have
full trust and faith that it will happen. You are happy now because you know it’s
already yours or it will definitely happen. When someone wins the lottery they
may not receive the money there and there. They could wait for a month. But
they are happy now. They fully trust that the money is on its way. It’s like
money in the bank; you don’t have it physically were you are but you know you
have access to it when you want it. I believe it’s better to apply yourself and
make $100million dollars than just winning it in a lottery. You get more
fulfillment from YOUR work. Like a person who is yet to receive he’s jackpot
prize knows it is coming so you need to believe that your own $100million that
you are working for is coming. Those who have already won the lottery dream all
the time about how they will spend “their” money. They “feel” the exact
feelings right now. You should mimic that with your own work. Think about how
you will spend your money, how your life would be better and the feelings
involved.
When
you believe with all your heart that a goal of yours will come to pass, then it
probably will. All your thoughts, feelings and actions will be directed towards
achieving it. Your prayers will be full of faith. “Whatever you ask for in
prayer, believe that you have received and it shall be done for you.” You may
have grown up in a dysfunctional family but you can change that.
The mind can’t distinguish whether you are really
doing it or whether you are just practicing. If you’ve been there in the mind
you’ll go there in the body.
Growing
up I was a daydreamer (I’m still growing up). I would imagine being a
successful businessman (a trillionaire!), the greatest soccer player of all
time, or the greatest President of all time. Something would light up on the
inside. I couldn’t live without my imagination. Experiencing tough times as a
child, this was my escape. I was in control. This was me.
Keep
smiling on the inside and very soon you are going to be smiling on the outside.
The goals that I have set for myself even these days are in the same line as my
imaginations, the imaginations I had a long time ago.
Pele,
the great soccer player, was a visualizing king. Before every single match he
would visualize what he would do. He would imagine different situations. With
his mind’s eye he would imagine scoring goals, creating chances and dribbling.
What he had practiced for hours he would now imagine implementing it. He is
widely regarded as the greatest soccer player ever. It is said his homeland
country of Brazil once proclaimed a national holiday just to see him play. He
was that good. Scientific research shows that the brain doesn’t know the
difference between visualizing something and actually doing it. If you
visualize your success well enough you will get the same feelings as when you
have actually done it.
On
a negative note, look at rapists other sex criminals. Most have a history of
watching pornography. What they fed their then seeks to be expressed. This is
how it works. Guaranteed. What you feed in your mind will push like a baby to
come out. Everyone that ever accomplished anything worthwhile knows this
principle. Men of success feast on anything and everything that will propel
them forward. Good people are that way because they focus their minds on good
things. They meditate on principles of goodness.
Visualizing
will be key to achieving yourself. It gets you in touch with the feelings that
will be responsible for your success. You should have principles and goals.
These should determine what feelings you nurture and what feelings you throw
away. Whatever your feelings will then determine your behavior. Your behavior
will ultimately determine whether you discover and accomplish your purpose or
not.
When
you have clear sense of purpose, you will be attracted to anything in line with
your purpose. Anything that does not appear in your vision will be dropped.
Anything includes anyone as well.
If
you consistently focus on getting a certain kind of husband with certain types
of characteristics like- looks or height, religious beliefs, financial
stability, supportive, gentle, kind, a good listener, goal driven and
ambitious- then you will naturally be attracted to guys of the same type. The
positive aspect of this is that by focusing on getting that kind of husband,
you both consciously and subconsciously work towards becoming the type of
person who can have that kind of husband. Those characteristics and traits
become a part of you. If you constantly focus on the characteristics that would
separate any job from your dream job then you will be attracted to that. Think
of what you want all the time and you will move in that direction all the time.
I will never attend an anti-war rally. If you have
a peace rally invite me.
Most
people focus on the problem than the solution. What they don’t want rather than
what they do want. On the devil rather than on Christ. What’s bad about their
family rather than what they do well. This is very depressing and let me make
it clear that being depressed will always get the opposite of what you want.
Successful people always focus their thinking on what they want to achieve.
They always imagine how it is to have more than enough money. How wonderful it
is to always have God on your side in everything. How amazing it is to great
friends by your side--- even if the current reality begs to completely
disagree. How you take any situation with your mind determines your feelings
and ultimately your feelings determine your behavior. 99% respond negatively to
a negative circumstance. 1% respond positively. These are the successful ones.
Be one of those. This faith pleases God and gets him moving, fast. God speaks
of things that haven’t occurred as if they already have. Since you are a mirror
of God’s creative power, doing the same brings success in any undertaking.
Whilst
you don’t even have shoes, live as though you have your favorite car. State
your claim to God of what you want through this faith and God will provide for
you. Thank him for his provision even before it has arrived. Learn to feel as
though it has arrived before it has arrived. Learn to live prosperously even
without a dime to your name and very soon God will mirror your faith with
tangible things. Be confident around rich people even if you have nothing to
your name. Be comfortable around people with the same characteristics and
personalities you want to adopt in your own life. Don’t be jealous of them. A
clear sense of purpose will prevent this. A clear sense of purpose always
admires the positives of others because you realize if God did it for them so
He can for you. If someone could go through a bad experience and come out
stronger so can you.
Whatever you dwell upon, grows in your reality.
If
you spend your time meditating on the good then it will become a part of your
life.
If
you spend most of your time watching soapies, don’t be surprised if some of the
scandals in them appear in your own life. What you dwell upon will become a
part of you. You become attracted and accustomed to familiar situations and circumstances
that are constantly in your mind.
If
you spend your time around children your heart will mellow and become more
peaceful. If you spend your time reading about successful entrepreneurs then
you will adopt their characteristics and become one. If you spend your time on
MTV then you will adopt those things you see. Just look at the dressing of
society right now. It comes from celebs. What you focus on grows in your
reality. Who you focus on becomes a part of you.
Anything we focus on, we do create.
If you focus on the love of God, that’s who
you will be. If you focus your mind on being a kind human being, that will be
that. If you focus on being that the best that you want to be in your chosen
field of work then you will be. It only requires maximum concentration and
faith to see this come to pass.
Our energy flows were attention goes.
We
give our attention to those people and those things that we love and that add
value to our lives. If a man and woman give unrivalled attention to each other
then very soon they will be married. Other lives will also grow from this
relationship.
If everyday you do push then very soon your
entire upper body will provide evidence to the world that this is true. If you
focus live with peace of mind, joy patience and all the other fruits of the
Spirit, your life and relationships will prove that this is true. If you focus
on living a prosperous life, a life abundance and sharing your life will show
this. If you focus on being the best at what you do, then the results will
show. No doubt. This is because our mind is designed to grow in the areas it
most used to thinking about. Do yourself a favor and constantly think about
yourself achieving your dreams.
