Steps To Success Part 2----- Perseverance

All great stories, biographies and testimonies have negative circumstances that were aligned to propel the main character towards a successful life. The bible says, “All things work together for good, for them that trust the Lord.” ALL THINGS: poverty, sickness, all abuses and any other horrendous thing that you can think of. All the experiences you have ever had, good or bad, are there to mold your character towards living a life of success.

Success still comes easily. The perseverance of successful people is never forced. If you have a deep desire to have or experience something you mind will blank out to all the negative circumstances that come your way.

Steve Jobs was once quoted as saying, “ more than half of what separates successful entrepreneurs to those that are not is perseverance.” The ability to keep on keeping on will get you great successes. The greatest teams in any sport are those who are renowned for their come-back victories. Those that never know when they are beaten. Their supporters may even doubt; they stop cheering- they march out of the stadium but the truly great teams never give up till the final whistle. This also goes for individuals who know what they want and relentlessly pursue it. The truly successful are the select few who respond to setbacks with even determination and tenacity. They turn on the intensity button and grow their vision with every challenge that comes forward.

Be encouraged where ordinarily you would have been discouraged. Be hopeful when everyone else is not giving you a chance. Smile when the normal thing is to frown. Give praise when you have no reason to. Give gratitude when it seems like everything is going wrong for you. Feel successful now. “Successful” responses you see from great characters when the going is tough doesn’t happen by accident, these are responses that have been cultivated even in smaller situations.

“Don’t bury your fears, get inspired by them.”

“You can attempt to do anything if failure is not an option.”

“”Every time you stumble believe you are getting closer to your goal.”

“You block your dream if you allow fear to grow bigger than your faith.”

“Don’t dread anything, just do it.”

“I may not see a way but I know God has a way.”

“Suddenly I will get my big break.”

“Trust God to give you divine connections that will lead to success.”

I’m not buried, I’m planted! I’m gonna come back up!

For a seed to grow and sprout it has to be placed under the ground. If it experiences to much sunshine without water it will never grow. If it experiences too much water and not enough sunshine it will die as well. It needs a balance of both.

For your dreams to be realized they need to be watered. Seek information that brings you closer to achieving your dreams. Visualize, affirm your goals, pray about your goals, if you have to go to school then go, be around people that inspire you to reach your goals and pray some more because communication with God is the real secret to success. My life has taken a positive turn ever since I started praying all the time. My fears have dissipated. God always answers my questions. What I cannot do He does.

Many people will lie and cheat to get what they want but talking to God will help you get what you want without a guilty conscience.

Tough times that require perseverance require you to choose whether you are planted or buried. For your dreams to be realized you also need the suns heat. Tough times if taken with a positive attitude can become the biggest tool for your success. See In them the opportunity to grow. Many people got their breakthrough ideas for financial prosperity when they were in a tight spot. A wild cat can run away from you when you are chasing it but when you corner it, it becomes a very dangerous animal. It sees where you are as the only path to its freedom. It knows it has to go through. Sometimes that is exactly what we need. In order to be our most creative we need to experience these challenges. Many inventions happened- yes, to solve a problem for everyone but mostly when the inventor was in financial need.

Success still comes easily because such solutions to your problems are with you. They are in your mind. Within every problem you have, YOU have the talents and abilities to solve them, YOUR way.

Very often the hardest part about getting success is that first “big-break.” It will not be found doing things you loathe but it will be found within your “domain.” Doing things that come easily to you. For me its writing. It comes easily for me. Product ideas and invention ideas also come to me easily. They just pop into my head especially when I’m reading about different products and services and business magazines. Whatever it is for you, that will lead to your prosperity.

Change comes when we confront fear in our lives. Not because we don’t feel fear, but we confront it.

Whenever we want to improve our lives from where we are, it’s going to take shift in our thoughts and behavior. This will stretch our comfort zone. Expect your mind and body to complain for a little while. This is only normal because you have been behaving in a certain way of living for a long time now. It’s also positive in the sense that to go back to negative thought patterns after filling your mind with positive affirmations is also going to be hard.

What cannot be cured must be endured.

Its half full not half empty; Your perspective, Your world. People encounter the same situations but we respond differently. It all comes down to how we take circumstances. We CHOOSE how we treat others, how to respond. Life doesn’t just happen to us, we CHOOSE.

So with this in mind, always complaining about how things don’t go well with you and never seeing what does creates more of the same experiences. Successful people focus on the solution. They may not like current circumstances but their desire for success quickly swallows up their pain therefore killing all forms of doubt. Not having any money now is, well, a painful experience--- but your visualizations of what you want should put you in a positive frame of mind. However hard this may be at first but this will ensure you maintain that success mindset that is sure to bring you results.

What you resist persists.

Any singer can tell you about the falsetto. It’s a technique that allows a musician to sing high notes without straining their voices. The trick is that, the higher the pitch of the song the less pressure you put on your vocal cords as you release your voice. This allows you to strike high notes sweetly without straining your voice. If you hit high notes with high pressure your voice will “crack” and destroys the harmony of the song because your voice breaks down. If this continues one could even injure his or her vocal chords. Life is often a song with many variations of both high and low notes. Sometimes you get high pressure trials that try to “crack” us. The best thing to do is to accept a low profile and let God take over the crisis. Don’t force solutions or fight wars to stop wars. Be peaceful and graceful in your approach to life’s challenges. The greater the challenges, the softer you should take them. Use the Falsetto approach to any challenge that you do not have the ability to solve in your natural self. Be calm in any situation that you do not have the ability to solve on your own. Let God and let be.

Jesus Christ says: Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek turn to him the other also… If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. See Mathew 6vs 38-41(NIV).

“How can you know what is in your heart? Look at your actions.”

“Patience, persistence and perspiration are an unbeatable combination of success- work smart though.”

“The ladder of success is never crowded at the top.”

A story was told of when a young man asked Socrates the secret to success. Socrates told him to meet him the following day at a local river the following day. They met early in the morning at the river. Socrates surprised the young man by telling him to walk into the river with him. Because this was Socrates he did this. But what happened next did more than surprise him. Like a cold-blooded murderer, Socrates grabbed the young man and placed under water as if to drown him. Just at the point of death, the young man powered his way up from the water. Still gasping for breath Socrates asked him, “What did you want most whilst underneath the water?” The young man gently replied, “air.” “That is the secret to success,” said Socrates. “When you desire success as you do air, then nothing can stop you.”

The successful people in industry have succeeded through their thinking. Their hands were helpers to their brains.

Successful people have a knack of prospering when the odds are against them. When everything seems to be going wrong, everyone seems to be against them that’s when they achieve greatness. That’s when they conquer their trade and propel themselves to new levels of success. They do that by simply maintaining a positive attitude to every event in their lives. Not much separates average and extraordinary; just the belief that, “I will prosper in this no matter what.” Just the ability to make the voice in your head louder than the voices of other people.

If you tell yourself you are a winner, but everyone else’s voice tells you, “you are a loser,” your voice should win out. You can live the presence of other people and their voices but you can never leave your own presence. Other people can interpret your life events for you and say you are doomed for failure, poverty, never to get married—if YOU agree then it’s true, but if you don’t agree then its false. You decide to keep going or to stop. Strong and tough trees survive the drought and blossom when rain comes. The truly ones special store away water in themselves which fights of the drought. If you see yourself as a success even when you are dirt poor then you ARE. If you see yourself as more than a conqueror in Christ even though you have had a shady past then you are.
